Taiwan is famous for robust MSMEs; India and Taiwan can leverage experience, expertise: TAITRA Chairman

New Delhi, May 17 (KNN) The Taiwan Expo 2018, which is being held in India for the first time, kick-started today at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The event saw attendance of various delegates from across sector from both India and Taiwan.

Some of the visiting delegates were - James C.F. Huang Chairman of Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Chung-Kwang Tien, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in India, L.C. Goyal Chairman of Managing Director, India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).

Talking to KNN about the Taiwan Expo 2018, James C.F. Huang, Chairman, TAITRA, said “Today is a symbolic day as it marks the beginning of a new chapter that will go a long way in strengthening of bilateral trade and cultural ties between Taiwan and India.”

India being a large economy is a home to vast number of institutions, R&D centers and tech-oriented manpower. It is advancing towards a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025 and will be the world’s 3rd largest Super Market by 2025, he added.

Huang was optimistic that this special event will give an opportunity to business leaders from both the countries to exchange ideas and share expertise.

The emerging Indian economy and the expertise of Taiwan in the fields like electronics, green products and medical make both the countries natural partners.

Huang said Taiwan cannot miss this opportunity to collaborate with Indian Market as India is a huge market with immense potential.

He stressed Taiwan to be the best partner for India to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India, Digital India initiatives and ease of doing business policies.

Highlighting the role that Taiwan can play in the strategic development of MSME sector of India, he said “Taiwan is very famous for the robust MSMEs and both the countries seek equal opportunities for the SME sector to work with each other and leverage the experience and expertise”.

India and Taiwan has good future prospects coming together, he added.

He said “experiencing the vitality of Indian Market is a good opportunity for Taiwan Companies.” (KNN/YV)
