India-Belgium Trade Relations Strengthen with New Colruyt Centre in Coimbatore

New Delhi, Jul 6 (KNN) Belgium's Ambassador to India, Didier Vanderhasselt, recently announced an increase in exports from India to Belgium during the inauguration of Colruyt Group's Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Coimbatore.

Vanderhasselt highlighted that Belgium is India's second-largest trade partner in the European Union, underscoring the robust economic relationship between the two countries.

He noted that many Belgian small and medium enterprises, often family-owned, are active internationally and have established a presence in India.

The ambassador also emphasised the strong political relationship between India and Belgium, which complements their growing economic ties.

In a significant development, Colruyt Group, a Belgium-based company, has opened its second Global Capability Centre in India, located in Coimbatore. This follows their first GCC in Hyderabad, demonstrating the company's commitment to expanding its operations in India.

Hari Subramanian, Managing Director of Colruyt Group India, emphasised the strategic importance of the new Coimbatore office.

He stated that it will augment the group's ambition to continuously add value to their strategic initiatives, with a particular focus on digital enablement and transformation.

This news highlights the strengthening economic ties between India and Belgium, particularly in the technology sector, and showcases the increasing interest of Belgian companies in the Indian market.
