New Delhi, Sept 12 (KNN) About 50 leading companies from India are participating at the Big 5 Kuwait international construction technology and building materials trade exhibition scheduled from September 14 to 16.

These companies will showcase a wide range of products including building material and construction equipment; bathrooms, kitchens and sanitary ware; marble, ceramic and stone; metal, steel and aluminium; concrete and related products; construction tools; conveying systems; decorative products; electrical systems; facilities management services; finishes (coating, painting, gypsum, tiling); fire suppression and protection; glass and glazing; HVAC; landscaping products and services; building services; communications; pipelines; plumbing  and water technology; PMV and related products; safety and security equipment; scaffolding; software and IT; special construction (swimming pools, fountain); thermal moisture, protection and insulation; windows, doors and cladding; and wood, plastic and composite.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is organising an ‘India Pavilion’ at ‘The Big 5 Kuwait’.

Bilateral trade between India and Kuwait currently stands at USD 14.58 billion. Of this, around 84 per cent is accounted for by oil and gas imports. There is clearly a need to deepen and widen the trade basket between the two countries.

The show will promote joint ventures, technology transfer, marketing opportunities, as well as well as people-to-people contact between the two countries. It would provide an excellent platform for networking and one-to-one business meetings with potential customers.

Kuwait is currently in the process of diversifying its economy away from oil. Plans are afoot to increase investment in sectors such as real estate, construction of new cities, hospitals, housing units, infrastructure, roads, airports, metro and railway projects, power and transmission, petrochemicals, gas processing and pipelines among others. This represents a major opportunity for Indian companies to step up its bilateral economic relations with Kuwait. (KNN Bureau)
