Blaupunkt to enter mobile phone accessories segment in India

New Delhi, Oct 4 (KNN) Blaupunkt, the Germany-based consumer lifestyle and technology brand, today announced entry into the mobile phone accessories segment. India is the first country where Blaupunkt mobile phone accessories would be launched globally.

The future plans include launching Blaupunkt smart phones, smart watches and phablets in the Indian and the SAARC markets –Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the company said in a statement.

New Delhi based Vidur and Co., one of India’s leading IT and telecom products distributors, will launch above Blaupunkt branded products in the Indian and SAARC markets through an exclusive brand licensing agreement, the statement added.

Blaupunkt’s mobile phone accessories will be available in categories like wire earphones, Bluetooth earphones, wired headphones, power banks, data and charging cables, car chargers, wall-mount chargers, wireless charging dock etc.

“India represents one of the fastest-growing mobile phone markets in the world today, having crossed a milestone of 1 billion mobile users this year. Beyond the numbers, Indian smartphone consumers are spending never-before time with their smartphones, fuelling demand for mobile accessories such as power supplies, earphones and data cables. We are excited to be present in this dynamic market. After the launch in India we are looking at entering other SAARC markets in the smart phones, smartwatches and phablets categories through our partnership with Vidur & Co.,” said Andrzej Cebrat, Managing Director, GIP Development / Blaupunkt.

Vidur & Co. and Blaupunkt have done extensive research to understand the current consumer pain points and the need gaps of the local customers during the use of mobile accessories. These have been addressed through several innovations, which we are being introduced into the products. The products have been customized for performance under Indian condition and while keeping factors such as durability in mind, which is intrinsic to German promise of quality, said the company.
