Cluster Pulse partners Tanzania Pvt Sector Foundation to boost SME competitiveness work in Tanzania

New Delhi, Jun 20 (KNN) Cluster Pulse, an Ahmedabad based economic development agency and Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) have entered into an agreement to enhance economic and trade exchanges in area of  small and medium enterprises (SMEs) competitiveness work in Tanzania.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the two organisations during the visit of President of United Republic of Tanzania HE Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete to India on Friday.

The partnership aimed at enhancing India-Tanzania economic and trade exchanges and cooperation and for the purpose of establishing a long-term mutually beneficial relation.
Both parties agreed to exercise their best efforts to develop the cooperation in strengthening economic and trade cooperation in information, interactive transmission of both trade and investment management policies, economic situation, market demand and supply and major economic and trade activities information between India & Tanzania.
 
Focus will be for trade and investment in the sectors like agriculture machinery, seeding technology, dairy development, food processing, thermal/hydro power stations, electrical, IT, energy saving technology, electronics, men and women garments and footwear, furniture, construction/building material, tourism, MSME competitiveness, training of SME’s, food development centre, innovation centre, banking relations, SME skill development centre, pharma, two way trade and investment delegations.

They will endeavour to set up import, export, skill development and innovation incubation mechanism to enhance both corporate and product promotion.

They will also give full play the role of liaison offices through assisting Indian & Tanzanian companies in solving problems and difficulties.

First training program for cluster development and international trade management for Tanzanian SME's will be jointly organised by Cluster Pulse and TPSF in August 2015.

Several MOU's were also signed with Government of India in areas of agriculture, healthcare, human resources, SME technology transfer, skill development centre and infrastructure during the president’s visit.

Meanwhile, CMD of Kamal Group from Tanzania, Gagan Gupta who has built the first private sector SEZ of Tanzania & is building a power project in Tanzania presented a commendation memento to Kikwete.

This commendation was a token of love and appreciation from the business community of Tanzania for the progressive support received in Tanzania from the president.
Kamal group of Tanzania also has business interests in steel making, industrial and medical gases, electrical products, power generation, mining, infrastructure, dairy and township development. (KNN/ST)
