GlobalLinker & Thailand India Business Council to form common platform to facilitate digital business networking between SMEs of both sides

Mumbai, Sept 27 (KNN) GlobalLinker, a digitization platform for SMEs, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thailand India Business Council (TIBC) under which a platform called ‘Thailand India GlobalLinker’ will be created to facilitate digital business networking between SMEs from India and Thailand.
The platform will also connect SMEs to all the GlobalLinker members across Asia.
A new corridor between India and Thailand will be created to connect SMEs, to enable them to strike new trade deals. It is estimated that this initiative will bring over 40,000 SMEs from Thailand & India onto the GlobalLinker platform, according to a press release.
The MoU was signed by Prashant Shetty, COO of GlobalLinker and Khun Prim Jitcharoongphorn, Chairperson of Thailand India Business Council, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Commerce in Thailand Jurin Laksanawisit at a networking event aimed at boosting Indo-Thai trade connections.
Sameer Vakil, Co-founder and CEO, GlobalLinker said, “A recent report indicated that two way trade last year between India and Thailand totaled USD 12.46 billion. These figures demonstrate the significance of the relationship between India and Thailand and the mutually beneficial trade relationship both countries share. We are so pleased to sign this MoU with TIBC, in a bid to help further boost both trade and networking opportunities between SMEs in both countries. We already have a long-standing relationship with Siam Commercial Bank since 2017 and this is yet another step in the right direction to bolster our presence in Thailand.’’
