New Delhi, Sept 9 (KNN) With a view to reducing the trade gap between India and China and generate employment, both sides are expecting an announcement for setting up manufacturing units here during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to India this month, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

While addressing the media here yesterday, Sitharam said that India has signed an agreement with China in June to set up Chinese Industrial Parks in India.

"China exports so much into India,” she said adding, "We are expecting the Chinese to come and invest in India. We have been able to convince the Chinese to manufacture those goods which they export...It is going to create more jobs in the country,"

"With regard to Chinese President visit, we are expecting a lot and they are also expecting a lot...hopefully there will be lots of announcements," Commerce Minister added.

India had a trade gap of USD 39 billion in 2013-14 in favour of China. (KNN/SD)
