India, Chile Agree To Expand Cooperation Across Key Sectors: MEA
New Delhi, Mar 14 (KNN) India and Chile have agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, health and pharmaceuticals, science and technology, mining, education, agriculture and people-to-people exchanges.
Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh visited Chile from March 10–12 and represented the Government of India at the inauguration of Chile’s new President Jose Antonio Kast Rist, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
In a statement, MEA said, "During these meetings, the two sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, health and pharmaceuticals, traditional medicines, science and technology, mining and mineral exploration, education, space, agriculture and people to people exchanges," PTI reported.
The two sides reviewed bilateral ties and agreed to expand cooperation in traditional and emerging sectors, including digital public infrastructure, innovation and green energy.
Both countries also expressed satisfaction over progress in negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Singh reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening partnership with Chile in trade, technology, mining, development cooperation and people-to-people ties.
