India, Finland Sign Two MoUs to Strengthen Industry Cooperation and Trade, Investment Ties

New Delhi, Jul 17 (KNN) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal commenced his official visit to Finland, leading a high-level Indian delegation of business leaders and government officials to strengthen bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation.

During the visit, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Business Finland, and between CII and the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK), to promote industry collaboration and facilitate greater business engagement between the two countries.

Goyal held bilateral talks with Finland's Minister of Economic Affairs, Sakari Puisto, focusing on cooperation in financial markets, innovation, enterprise financing, and expanding bilateral trade and investment.

The Minister also addressed the India–Finland Business Forum in Helsinki, where Indian and Finnish companies participated in sector-specific discussions on digital and frontier technologies, space, clean energy, bioeconomy, circular economy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the visit follows the elevation of India–Finland relations to a Strategic Partnership in Digitalisation and Sustainability during Finnish President Alexander Stubb's visit to India in March 2026 and the conclusion of the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement earlier this year.

The first day's engagements concluded with a networking reception hosted by the Embassy of India in Helsinki, bringing together business leaders, policymakers and other stakeholders from both countries.
