India, Moldova Discuss Trade, Investment & AI Cooperation During President Murmu’s First Visit
New Delhi, Jul 21 (KNN) President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Chisinau on July 20, 2026, beginning her State Visit to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania. This is the first visit by an Indian President to Moldova.
Murmu held a bilateral meeting and delegation-level talks with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, with discussions covering the full range of bilateral relations, including trade, investment, resilient supply chains, connectivity and business cooperation.
India announced its decision to double the number of ITEC training slots for Moldovan professionals, including specialised courses in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies.
Moldovan diplomats were also invited to participate in courses on AI and cyber diplomacy at India's Foreign Service Institute.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, logistics and infrastructure, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, Digital Public Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence and innovation.
