Indian MSMEs seek long term partnership with Chinese entrepreneurs: Kalraj Mishra

New Delhi, Oct 12 (KNN) Indian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seek a long term partnership with Chinese entrepreneurs and investors especially in areas like IT, mobile components, automobile ancillaries and more, said Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra.

Mishra said this in his address at the 13th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF, 2016) organized in Guangdong, China in which India was the co-host country.

Mishra highlighted huge opportunities for cooperation between the MSMEs from India and China for mutual benefits especially under the ‘Make in India' initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mishra said that Modi government has taken several initiatives to augment the growth of manufacturing sector in India like- " Make in India" , "Digital India", "Start-up India" and "Stand up India" , which have made the world's economic super powers to look at India with a lot of admiration.

He added that Indian MSME sector is poised for a major leap driven by the high growth with high level of innovation and Indian MSMEs seek a long term partnership with Chinese entrepreneurs and investors especially in areas like IT & digital, mobile components, automobile ancillaries.

The CISMEF, which attracts large number of visitors from the China as well as various countries, is expected to provide huge market opportunity. Participation of Indian MSMEs is relevant even as China emerged as India's largest trading partner. The Fair will also provide opportunity for the Indian SMEs to network with Chinese as well as foreign SMEs besides by benchmarking their products and quality with the international products.

Mishra also met Hu Chunhua, Guangdong Party Secretary; Zhu Xiaodan; Governor of Guangdong, Xin Guobin; Vice Minister of Ministry of Trade and IT and discussed about finding ways and means to enhance cooperation between the MSMEs of two countries and strengthen the bilateral relations in all spheres.

He also raised India's concern of the huge imbalance in trade figure and urged Chinese interlocutors to work with India to reduce this deficit in the interest of sustainable bilateral trade.

As many as 124 MSMEs from across the country representing sectors like Textile, Garments, Cycle Parts, Machine Tools, Paper & Paper products, Plastic Products, Solar Products, LED Lights, Machines Tools, Jewellery, Pharmaceutical, Agricultural Products and Handicrafts participated in the fair.
