SEZ abroad for chemical industry

This was stated by Minister of state for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Nihal Chand in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.
He said consultations with other Departments such as Department of Commerce, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs etc. are on to work out the details.
According to media reports, Iran and Myanmar have been identified for setting up of the chemical and petrochemical complex. The feedstock complex is expected to come up in a special economic zone to be set up by Indian government in these countries.
While India can gain access to critical hydrocarbon feedstocks, Iran and Myanmar will witness investment in refinery by Indian companies, it said. (KNN/ES)
