10th edition of Asian Textile conference to begin in Delhi today

New Delhi, Aug 17 (KNN) The tenth edition of the Asian Textile conference (ATEXCON) is all set to begin at Shangri-La Eros Hotel in Delhi today.

The conference which is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), will focus on the prospects and challenges of the textile industry in the next decade.

Piyush Goyal, Union minister commerce and industry will inaugurate the event.The Theme of 10th ATEXCON is “Reimagining the Textile and Apparel Industry for the Next Decade”.

A-day long conference will have five different session focussing on Rebuilding India’s Textile & Apparel Industry, Changing Trends in Asian Textile and Apparel Trade, Digitization, Automation & Innovation in Textiles and Apparel Industry, India’s Trade Agreements with Major Economies and Scaling up Cleaner Production with Sustainable Textile Solutions.

More than 35 speakers and over 350 delegates are expected to participate in the conference.

During the event, Textiles secretary Upendra Prasad Singh will present a “Roadmap for the Next Decade”. He will also chair the first session on ‘Rebuilding India’s Textile & Apparel Industry’.

Darshana Vikram Jardosh, minister of state for textiles, HK Agarwal, managing director, Grasim Industries Ltd; Soundhar Rajhan K, director operations, Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd. (LMW); Neeraj Jain, joint managing director, Vardhman Textiles Limited; Sudhir Sekhri, are amongst those who will be present at the event.  (KNN Bureau)
