Centre aims for multiple skill hubs in schools, universities across India
New Delhi, Apr 15 (KNN) The central government has plans to start various skill hubs in schools, colleges, universities and higher educational institutions.
It will also include IIMs and IITs and all the educational institutions will be exempted from affiliations and accreditations, thus fast-tracking the entire process of skilling and significantly expanding the base for skills training across India, reported ET.
Under Secretary Atul Kumar Tiwari have held meetings with institutes of national importance .
He met officials at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodya Vidyalaya Samiti among others to bring them on board for setting up of skill hubs.
According to the official, educational institutions are present in every nook and corner of the country, thus making skilling accessible to the youth. "By utilising the existing infrastructure in these institutions, skilling can be delivered in remote corners, where private training providers may not find it feasible," the official said.
"A conditional exemption from accreditation and affiliation will also help in quicker onboarding of the skill hub and commencement of training," the official added. (KNN Bureau)
