Delhi files maximum complaints on consumer helpline

It was followed by Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh Gujarat and Punjab.
Consumers in Delhi filed 2993 complaints while Uttar Pradesh came second registering 2251 complaints followed by Maharashtra at 1357. States such as Gujarat and Punjab filed only 528 and 411 complaints respectively.
As far as sectors are concerned, the telecom sector recorded maximum complaints at 19 per cent. It was followed by telecom products, e-commerce, weights and measures, non-banking financial companies, public distribution system, banking, and education.
NCH also received 2343 complaints on its website.
The helpline provides telephonic counselling for consumer related problems and also provides information, advice and guidance related to consumer issues. (KNN)
