DGFT amends import policy conditions of apples

New Delhi, Jan 13 (KNN) The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has allowed import of apples through sea ports and airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Cochin and also through land port and airport in Delhi.

In a notification, DGFT said, “Import of the item ‘Apples’ covered under EXIM Code 08081000 is allowed through sea ports & airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai & Cochin; and land port & airport in Delhi. Import of apples is also allowed through India’s land borders.”

Earlier, import of Apples was allowed only through the Nhava Sheva Port.

The main apple growing states are in north and east India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh. (KNN Bureau)
