Food processing & bakery products training underway in Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh

Changlang, Sept 8 (KNN) A 15-day micro enterprise development programme (MEDP) on bakery and food products is underway in Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh.

The development programme has been organised by the Changlang Community Resource Management Society (CCRMS) with the support of NABARD’s regional office in Itanagar.

Under this programme, thirty members from various SHGs will be trained in making different bakery products, packaging, and selling.

Speaking about the initiative, NABARD DDM Kamal Roy, said that MEDPs have been introduced to build up skill and competence of SHG members to take up micro enterprises.

“SHG members have been enabled to get incremental income and additional employment created by the activities pursued after MEDP training, when compared to the pre-MEDP situation,” he said.

CCRMS District Project Director Nonju Simai Tikhak, said that the programme is being conducted to enhance the production quantity by maintaining quality, keeping in mind the demand of food processing and bakery products in the area. This
