Hansmukh Adhia takes over as Revenue Secretary

New Delhi, Sept 1 (KNN) Hasmukh Adhia today took over as the Revenue Secretary, Ministry of Finance here today.
 
Earlier Adhia was holding the charge of Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS) in the same Ministry. He had also earlier worked as the Finance Secretary in his cadre i.e. in the State of Gujarat.
 
Later speaking to the media persons, Adhia said that his priorities among others would be to bring more transparency in the functioning of the Department of Revenue through the optimum use of Information Technology (IT) and simplification of rules and procedures for better tax administration.
 
He said that he will review the GST readiness for both Central and State Governments so that it is implemented in a time bound manner soon after the GST Constitution Amendment Bill is passed by the Parliament and ratified by the State Legislatures.
 
Adhia also sought suggestions regarding tax reforms including rules and procedures etc from people at large on his email : adhia1981@gmail.com. This will help in providing better services to the tax payers at large, he added. (KNN Bureau)
