IIM Shillong partners NCW to offer entrepreneurship programme to women

Shillong, Sept 1 (KNN) A 40-hour long weekend online certificate course for aspiring women entrepreneurs from North Eastern states is being launched by IIM Shillong.

The Centre for Development of the North Eastern Region (CeDNER) of IIM Shillong is joining hands with National Commission of Women (NCW) to initiate this programme.

The weekend programme will include sessions from IIM Shillong faculty and leading industry leaders on the dynamics of entrepreneurship.

The certification programme for women will offer them personal and professional development opportunities with a focus on management practices, growth opportunities, development of effective leadership skills and support through formal mentoring on the business idea and peer networking.

Speaking about the collaboration, DP Goyal, director, IIM Shillong, said, “Collaboration between IIM Shillong and NCW not only aims to accelerate efforts to promote women entrepreneurship, but also build confidence among the women entrepreneurs from both urban and rural areas.”

As per reports, during the course of the programme, the participating candidates will also be working on developing a business plan and will present their entrepreneurship dynamics to the mentors.

The course is designed to assist aspiring female entrepreneurs in launching their own businesses while learning from eminent faculty at IIM Shillong.  (KNN Bureau)
