IIT Madras to offer skill development programme in banking and finance

New Delhi, Oct 10 (KNN) The innovation hub of IIT Madras in collaboration with the Digital Skills Academy and InFactPro is offering industry-relevant upskilling courses for students to build a career in banking and finance.

All those who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree or have completed their degree in any discipline are eligible to apply for these certification courses.

Elaborating on these courses, K Mangala Sunder, Principal Coordinator of Digital Skills Academy, Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras, said, "With the recent technology advancement and digital adoption in the BFSI sector, recruiters are on the lookout for the candidates with the right skills.”

“It is important for students graduating from colleges to build BFSI domain expertise. These certification courses provide an in-depth understanding of principles of Banking and Finance, Mutual Funds, Equity Derivatives, Digital Banking, Securities Operations and Risk Management," he said.

“With our nation aiming to move fast toward a 5-trillion-dollar economy, it is important that such skill development courses are offered by premier institutions and industry jointly, to help the students who are aspiring to build a career in banking and finance,” said V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras and Chairman, IIT Madras Pravarthak Foundation.

IIT Madras Digital Skills Academy (DSA) has been offering online training programmes with more than 25 courses since 2018 with the expert guidance of NASSCOM IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council.  (KNN Bureau)
