Pranab Mukherjee to inaugurate Global Conference on National Enforcement & Arbitration on Oct 21

New Delhi, Oct 10 (KNN) President Pranab Mukherjee will be inaugurating the 1st Global Conference on National Enforcement & Arbitration in India on October 21 in the national capital. The conference aims promoting international commercial arbitrations in India.

The conference will be held at Vigya Bhawan from October 21 to 23.

The initiative aims towards strengthening arbitration and enforcement in India and also to make dispute resolution easy in the country.

Along with the President, PM Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Minister Ravi Shanker Prasad will also attend the conference.  The Chief Justice of India, Justice Tirath Singh Thakur will be the Patron in Chief of the Conference.

‘National Initiative towards Strengthening Arbitration and Enforcement in India’ is a landmark three-day conference organised in New Delhi to promote India as a global hub for arbitration amongst international practitioners, corporate houses and the Indian legal fraternity, said the organizers.

This is the first time the Government of India through NITI Aayog is organising an important global conference with active support from five international arbitration institutions (HKIAC, ICC, KLRCA, LCIA

and SIAC).

The conference is also supported by major industry associations in India. Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, National Legal Services Authority, NILERD,

International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution and legal fraternity have also been involved in organising the event.

The conference will serve as a platform for discussing critical issues, sharing experience on best international practices and creating a roadmap to strengthen arbitration and its enforcement in the country.

The conference will have intensive brainstorming sessions.

Experts, practitioners/representatives from national and international arbitration organisations, legal practitioners, in-house counsel, industry associations, corporate representatives, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and legal academia can attend the event. (KNN Bureau)
