Mumbai, July 29 (KNN) Under the Rail Post Gati Shakti Express Service the scheme of “Express Cargo Service” has started in the Gujarat Express train.

Train No. 22953 Mumbai – Ahmedabad Gujarat Express was loaded with the first consignment and was flagged off on Thursday.

The scheme is formulated by the Western Railway in collaboration with India Post.

G V L Satyakumar, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division & Veena R Srinivas, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle along with other senior officials of WR & India Post had flagged off the train carrying the first consignment under the scheme.

The “Express Cargo Service” aims to provide seamless connectivity for the logistic movement of goods & parcels, said Western Railway Chief PRO Sumit Thakur.

The Joint Parcel Product in collaboration with Indian Railways & India Post focuses on the e-commerce & MSME market offering affordable prices as per the market trends of weight category between 35 kg to 100 kg.  (KNN Bureau)
