State of India's Livelihoods Report 2021 launched by NABARD Chairman

New Delhi, 16 Dec (KNN) The Livelihoods India Summit 2021 will be organized by ACCESS Development Services on 16th and 17th December, 2021, virtually with Niti Aayog as co-host.

It will look into policies and activities significant for the promotion of livelihoods the COVID-19 challenge and effect as an underlying theme.

On the first day of the occasion, Dr. G R Chintala, Chairman of NABARD, launched the State of India's Livelihoods Report 2021 today.

The theme of the summit is titled “Coping with the Pandemic: Lessons We Have Learnt & Way Forward” which aims at bringing together numerous stakeholders discussing and deliberating on key themes around livelihoods divided into six parts which includes strengthening local economies through inclusive entrepreneurs.

It will also cover transforming agriculture in India through Agroecology along with Jobs in the Post-Pandemic Era and Women-led Collective Enterprises

Building a Sustainable Ecosystem for Farmer Producer Organizations and looking beyond immediate recovery: Pathways to Sustainable and Resilient Livelihoods will also be discussed.

Livelihoods India was initiated in 2010 as a national level initiative to bring together diverse stakeholders on a single platform to discuss critical issues that impede and afflict the livelihoods of the poor. ACCESS Development Services set up this platform in order to understand and assess the key issues and challenges that the poor face in sustaining their livelihoods and microenterprises and also to craft a vision and strategy for moving them from subsistence to sustainable levels.
