Survey indicates that tech skills help women to progress in IT sector

New Delhi, Mar 9 (KNN) One in two women agreed that enhancing their technical skills helped them in achieving their current position in the IT sector, as per a recent Skillsoft study. 

The survey pointed out that only half of the respondents said that their employers offer training as a benefit. 

This has challenge has also been highlighted in their Global Knowledge IT Skills and Salary Report stating that 76 per cent of IT decision-makers report skill gaps on their teams.

Training and professional development is crucial for employers and employees to benefit. 

The study states that such trainings help fill crucial skills shortages and put women on a path for career advancement.

The report is centred on the current state of women in technology in India.

Commenting on the study, Rashim Mogha, general manager leadership and business portfolio, Skillsoft said, “Over the last decade the percentage of women in the Indian IT sector has risen. This looks promising however in order to maintain momentum, women must be empowered with new opportunities to enter the tech sector by providing upskilling opportunities.”  (KNN Bureau)
