Textile exhibition to exploit vast business opportunities in the sector

Mumbai, Sept 14 (KNN) In order to explore the futuristic potential for growth of the textile industry, the Textile Association of India (Indiatex) is organising a textile exhibition to provide a wide platform to the suppliers, buyers, distributors, manufacturers of fabric and textile producers.

The office of the Textile Commissioner has joined hands with the association to organise the event on October 18-20 here.

“The exhibition will give new product launches, development of new market and business networking. The show will attract large number of businessmen connected with textile production as well as from the trade organizations, financial institutions and marketing experts,” said the organisers.

This important textile event is scheduled to attract national and global attention, they added.

The exhibits will cover the entire spectrum of textile industry from fibre, yarn, dyes, chemicals, fabric, garment, embroidery, branding, testing equipment to fashion.

“IndiaTex 2013 aims at bringing the technologists and technology service providers under one roof for creating platform for mutual advantage and commercial interaction,” the organisers said.

This exhibition will showcase the most up-to-date products and service and also provide an opportunity to the exhibitors for getting the bookings.

The exhibition will endeavour the exhibitors from different sectors of the textile industry to promote and stimulate general awareness and demand for new products designed for more efficient textile operations.

Projecting the expertise, capabilities and achievements of the Indian and international products, the association aims to highlight the vast market in India and neighbouring countries for advanced textile.

The Textile Association (India) is the body of textile professional in India, striving for the growth of India's single largest Textile Industry and also largest in the world textiles.

The association's Mumbai unit was established in the year 1952.

The textile sector contributes about 14 per cent to the industrial production, 4 per cent to the GDP and 11per cent to the country’s export earnings.
The textile sector is the second largest provider of employment after agriculture.

The report of working group constituted by the Planning Commission on boosting India’s manufacturing exports during 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17), envisages India’s exports of textiles and clothing at USD 64.11 billion by the end of March 2017. (KNN)
