The world needs to come out with strategies to deal with very important subject of creating new educational pattern: Prabhu

New Delhi, Oct 30 (KNN) Education as a sector can create more employment in the world. As the world GDP is growing, the employment is going to be a major challenge, said Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry on the 14th edition of FICCI Higher Education Summit, New Delhi.

The theme of summit was “Universities of the Future”.

Prabhu while addressing the gathering mentioned that the world has to come out with strategies to deal with the very important subject of creating a new educational pattern to face the new challenges emerging in the world.

He added, “The process of education is not limited to modern times.”

Talking about the changes that have occurred over some time, Prabhu said that unlike the three revolutions earlier, we have realized it before that 4th revolution is round the corner and what will be the affects of it.

Mentioning about the emerging universities, Minister said that they should first realize the future of humanity and modern world which will impact the 4th industrial revolution.

“It is very critical and necessary that we must learn firstly how to face challenges in a shortest possible time,” he said.

He highlighted, “India has always been a hub for innovation, new ideas and new knowledge. We also have the oldest universities in the world.”

He also said that the primary job of any state government is to educate people of its state.

The high-power panels during the conference also deliberated upon ongoing rapid technological disruption, India’s higher education readiness to meet the challenges, policy, roadmaps to facilitate the change in 21st century and other topical issues in Higher Education.
