The aim is to help businesses prevent, mitigate and address human rights risks posed by businesses to their stakeholders.

Speaking about the initiative, Amit Kumar, Head, Inclusive Growth, UNDP India said, “Businesses are increasingly playing an important role in shaping our environment and our well-being. As countries around the world make the practice of human rights due diligence (HRDD) mandatory for businesses, we hope that these training sessions will help businesses embark on an HRDD journey to achieve sustainable development.”

UNDP had called India as a key regional development partner which plays a central role in promoting the Business and Human Rights Agenda and in implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles (UNGPs) in Asia.

Businesses are invited to register for the training sessions as it will help them to identify actual human rights risks and act upon findings as well as track the effectiveness of aligned business efforts, and account for any achievements and shortcomings.
