New Delhi, Nov 12 (KNN)  With the signing of an MOU between state owned telecommunications service provider and US based security firm, training programmes on various aspects of security management will now be offered in the country.

“MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited) and Los Alamos Technical Associates, Inc. (LATA) of the U.S.A. have signed an MOU for launching the state of the art training programs on Cyber Security, Risk And Crisis Management, Public Safety and Disaster Management, Homeland Security/ Critical Infrastructure Protection, Security Operations Management, Industrial Security, Fire and Safety Management etc,” said an official notification.

The first batch of training is likely to start from March 2014.

On the need for such training, “India’s security needs are evolving rapidly and this partnership can help develop professional programs in cyber and physical security to meet the country’s growing demands,” it said.

The move will bring to India the best US practices followed in security, which have been developed over a period of time.

To begin with, MTNL will start the training programmes through its state of the art training centres at New Delhi and Mumbai.

Further, a dedicated resource will be allocated for this project so that the training that is imparted is more relevant for Indian conditions.

MTNL will also be developing a one or two day series of awareness programs for the top management of companies and government departments.  (KNN/ES)
