10 new TCs will soon become operational for support and upgradation of MSMEs: Giriraj Singh

New Delhi, Dec 19 (KNN) In order to provide technical support and help upgradation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industries, as many as ten new Technology Centres (TCs) will soon become operational, besides the 18 TCs which are doing exemplary work, Minister of State for MSME Giriraj Singh said.

He was delivering the keynote address during the inauguration of the 15th Global SME Business Summit in New Delhi.

He added that schemes like Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and credit guarantee fund trust for micro and small enterprises had helped in creating 19 lakh new entrepreneurs.

"I think these entrepreneurs have created jobs for about three crore people," he added.

Singh hoped that the global summit will provide the MSMEs of the country an opportunity to understand the international market and encourage them to join international trade.

The Minister said that Indian MSMEs share is increasing in exports as well as GDP of the country.

He said that MSMEs have the capability to compete with global companies and become a part of the fourth industrial revolution due to the support being given to them through various Government of India schemes.

Singh said that with Ease of Doing Business, credit lending facilities and technical support and upgradation initiatives of the Government of India, our MSMEs have joined the SMEs of the world.
