2,18,681 receive entrepreneurship training

New Delhi, Nov 19 (KNN)  In an effort to promote and develop self-employment in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) has conducted a total of 8368 training programmes covering 2,18,681 participants which includes more than 160 International Training Programmes with more than 2,500 participants from more than 125 Countries till 31st October , 2013. 

Training programmes were conducted under the administrative control of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The basic objective of these programmes is to encourage the maximum number of participants to go in for self-employment after the training. The Institute also extends the entire range of hand-holding assistance to them for the purpose. 

One of the important categories of training activities of the Institute is Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) and Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill Development Programmes (ESDPs) under the “Assistance to Training Institutions (ATI) Scheme” of the Ministry of MSME. 

The passed out trainees were provided a platform to display and sell their products in the India International Trade Fair 2013-14. 

NIESBUD is an apex national level entrepreneurial institute engaged in training, research and consultancy interventions with the objective of promotion and development of SMEs including enhancement of their competitiveness through different interventions. (KNN/ST)
