500 ZED certifications issued to Indian MSMEs; Karnataka tops with 300 certifications

Bengaluru, Nov 17 (KNN) In India about 500 MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification have been issued so far from which 300 ZED certifications were issued in Karnataka, said Gopinath Rao, Deputy Director, MSME-DFO.

He was speaking at an Awareness Programme organised by Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) on “On-boarding ZED Certification and Spot Registration Programme” on Wednesday at their premises, said a press release.

Welcoming the gathering K. N. Narasimhamurthy, President, KASSIA informed that Zero Defect, Zero Effect is the mantra for micro and small scale industries.

He said to survive and compete in the market, MSEs have to move towards Zero defect in their products under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat and zero effect on the environment which the concept is being repeatedly emphasized by the State and Central Governments.

Inaugurating the programme, Akkadas, Director, MSME-DFO, Bengaluru mentioned that the Government has provided slab-wise subsidies under the ZED scheme wherein for micro enterprises.

“The subsidy offered is as much as 80%, for small enterprises, it is 60% and for medium enterprises it is 50%,” said the director.

An additional subsidy of 5% is provided in the SC/ST category that are owned by women.  

He said ZED Certification scheme also provides for various rating levels and there are 5 rating levels depending on the quality of the manufacturing that is Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum. So better the quality, better the rating.

The programme was attended by the Joint Director, DIC, Bangalore Urban, Sri Krishnamurthy of Serapis Knowledge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Vice President and representatives of Siemens Financial Services Pvt.Ltd., among others.

Office Bearers of KASSIA, H. S. Lingesh, Panel Chairman, members and Invitees also participated in the programme. B. Praveen, General Secretary proposed vote of thanks.  (KNN Bureau)
