New Delhi, Oct 7 (KNN) The recently launched simplified Aadhaar based registration system for MSME sector has received good response, said the Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra adding that within a short period 800 registrations have already been done under the scheme.

The Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) for registration of MSMEs was mooted by  Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’, on October 3, 2014, with the view to simplify forms to enable ease of registration of MSME’s.

The MSME Ministry notified the simple one-page registration Form ‘Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum’ on September 18, 2015 in the Gazette of India Vide Notification Number S.O 2576 (E).

The simplified one page registration form ‘Udyog Aadhaar’ was made after consultations with the states and stakeholders.

The main features of UAM includes - Single Page Online Registration-Mobile friendly; Self-Certification; Facility to file more than one Udyog Aadhaar; No documents required; No fees for Udyog Aadhaar.

Further the minister said that the framework for revival and rehabilitation of MSMEs has been notified by the Ministry under Section 9 of MSMED Act, 2006 on May 29, 2015.

The framework provides a mechanism for revival and rehabilitation with a definite voice to the entrepreneurs and is expected to balance the interests of debtors and creditors.

The framework also enables Banks/creditors to identify MSME’s which are in the stage of incipient stress and take corrective action to prevent them from becoming NPA’s. MSME’s can seek revival and rehabilitation benefit through a committee constituted by banks with representative from state Governments, experts and others.

The minister further said that under the Prime Minister's Generation Programme (PMEGP), employment of about 118,196 persons have been generated during 2015-16.

Reiterating Government's commitment to promote Khadi sector in the country,  Mishra said Government measures and Prime Minister's encouragement to the khadi industry has helped the sector to record 17.55 per cent growth during October 2014 – 15.  (KNN Bureau)
