Aadhar Number is not mandatory for registration in UAM: MSME Minister

Baddi, Feb 20 (KNN) Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) minister Kalraj Mishra said that Aadhar Number is not mandatory for the registration under Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM).

While speaking at the foundation stone lying ceremony of MSME technology centre in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, he said that Aadhaar Number is not mandatory for the Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) Registration.

He further said that One-page simple registration form for O/L filing of UAM has been introduced which replaces the filing of Entrepreneur’s Memorandum Part I&II adding that UAM optional for Enterprises filed  EM-I or EM -II or both, or Small Scale Industry Regis, prior to the coming into force of MSMED Act 2006.

Himachal Pradesh is far behind in Udyog  Adhaar Registration and  is at 21st place, the state should  try further to increase its Udyog Adhaar registration (UAM), added the Minister.
He stated that in Himachal Pradesh 90% of the industries are MSMEs, Central Public Sector Units (CPSUs)  of nearby area will procure 20%  from local MSMEs.

Talking about the Technology Centres in the country, he said that Under Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP) 15 new Technology Centres have to be established, this is the second after Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

He said that Technology Centre will also contribute towards research & development adding that It is beneficial for entrepreneurs, start-ups & common people.

World Bank has approved Rs. 2200 Crores to set up 15 Technology Centres across the country in coming years, he added.

Around two lakh candidates are being trained by these Technology Centres, he stated. The technology centres are fully equipped with latest machines, he said.

Addressing, This Technology Centre will contribute towards skill development & in development of Industry.

Minister also said that Technology Centre System Programme will really contribute to Make In India, Skill India and Digital India. (KNN Bureau)
