Added incentives, exit provisions ‘must’ to promote MSMEs in the country: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Aug 25 (KNN) Highlighting the importance of providing support to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the country, Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) said that it is imperative to extend added incentives to the startups and entrepreneurs in the country.

The Minister further added that the flagship project of the government ‘Startup India’, was launched with the specific purpose to help the sector. Also the sector’s need of incentives must be looked upon.

Singh further said that the traditional art forms in the country are somewhat vulnerable; therefore it is important to preserve as well as to promote the traditional art forms that come from the ancient heritage.

Talking about the region he handles, Singh informed that his Ministry has established venture fund for startups, and the Ministry helps the business with the required credit.

For the traditional art forms, the Minister urged that the state governments must formulate similar venture funds for entrepreneurs who are keen in manufacturing the traditional handicrafts.

Commenting upon the exit provisions, the Minister added that the exit period provision would help the entrepreneurs change their business in case they want to do so.

Singh was speaking at the 4th India International MSME Expo in the national capital. (KNN/ DA)
