Ahead of Budget 2018, MSME Ministry holds departmental meeting

New Delhi, Jan 2 (KNN) With the upcoming budget likely to be announced early February, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) held a meeting recently in the national capital.

Minister of State (I/C) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Giriraj Singh chaired the meeting along with other officials from the MSME department including Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Panda.

Singh informed about the meeting in a tweet from his official twitter handle.

“We had a very important meeting with the Secretary. and other senior officials of the MSME Ministry to discuss policy and schemes and budget for 2018”, the Minister tweeted.

Earlier different sectors submitted their wishlist to the finance ministry with regard to the upcoming budget.

Representing the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) - a national body of MSMEs comprising of over 740 associations, submitted its memorandum of proposals for the consideration in the upcoming budget.

In the representation, FISME urged the government to consider investment allowance on capex without any lower threshold limit.

The federation also appealed for encouraging increase in internal accruals in MSMEs, which will further enhance their employment capacity through expansion etc. (KNN/DA)
