AITF complains about negligence in implementation of nontax benefits before re-classification

Chandigarh, Apr 14 (KNN) All Industries & Trade Forum (AITF) has written to the Union MSME Ministry expressing disappointment over failure of the government departments adhering to Gazette Notification issued by Ministry of MSME under notification number S.0. 4926(E).

The trade body has argued that the state & central departments and delayed payment councils are not adhering to these orders.

“Unfortunately due to the non-adherence of MSME Ministries orders by state & central government departments and delayed payment councils the MSMEs of India are suffering a lot,” said Badish Jindal, National President, AITF.

In the letter he emphasised on the gazette notification issued by Ministry of MSME on 18th October 2022 which states that “In case of an upward change in terms of investment in plant and machinery or equipment or turnover or both, and consequent re-classification, an enterprise shall continue to avail of all nontax benefits of the category (micro or small or medium) it was in before the re-classification, for a period of three years from the date of such upward change.”

“However, unfortunately none of the government departments in India are adhering to these instructions. They are just giving the benefits on the basis of current status of MSMEs,” he lamented.

Referring to Punjab, he said that more than 1000 cases of Medium Sector Industries were refused by the delayed pament councils as the same was not accepted by the online portals of concerned scheme.

He requested the Union MSME Ministry to immediately amend the portal of MSME Samadhaan and issue instruction to all the concerned state & central government departments and delayed payment councils of India.  (KNN Bureau)
