Allahabad bank to focus on SME lending - MUDRA for business growth

New Delhi, Dec 8 (KNN) Allahabad bank will focus on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) loans and Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) to grow its business, Usha Ananthasubramanian, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Allahabad Bank informed.

She made the following remarks during a meeting with the managers of the bank in Hyderabad.

Usha further said that the bank should lay out a framework focussing on Small. Micro, Agriculture and Retail loans, terming the strategy as SMART strategy.

The bank will lay special emphasis on MUDRA along with the funding projects under the Stand-up India project of the government.

The Kolkata headquartered Allahabad bank is the country’s oldest joint stock bank.

The Mudra scheme by the government was launched as an integrated financial and support services provider par excellence benchmarked with global best practices and standards for the bottom of the pyramid universe for their comprehensive economic and social development.

The main aim of the scheme is to promote inclusive, sustainable and value based entrepreneurial culture, in collaboration with our partner institutions in achieving economic success and financial security. (KNN/ DA)
