Amazon's new warehouses to help SMEs expand online biz

New Delhi, Jul 28 (KNN) The world's largest online retailer, Amazon is planning to open five additional warehouses, also called Fulfilment Centres (FCs) in Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Tauru on the outskirts of Gurgaon. These FCs will enable many more SMEs in India to take advantage of the services and help them expand their online business.
With this move, in addition to its two existing FCs on the outskirts of Mumbai and Bengaluru, Amazon would double its storage capacity, expanding its services to many more retailer SMEs.
While the FC in Chennai is already operational, the remaining four FCs will be operational next month, a media report said.
Amazon Fulfilment Centres are warehouses where online retailers who use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) services, stock their inventory of their products.
