Anup K Pujari to be the next MSME Secretary

New Delhi, Jun 4 (KNN) Government has appointed Anup K Pujari IAS of Karnataka cadre as the next Secretary of the Ministry of MSME. An officer of 1980 batch of IAS, Pujari is presently Secretary of the Ministry of Mines.
 
Pujari had a long tenure in the Ministry of Commerce and held the important post of Director General Foreign Trade, from 2010 to 2014. He also carries rich experience in Ministry of Finance where he worked in different posts. He also held important offices in the Karnataka Government.
 
Pujari is also strong in academics. Besides a Ph D he also holds dual post graduate degrees in Political Science and Economics, the second one from celebrated Boston University. He was also on short term Consultancy assignments with the Harvard University for consecutive 3 years.
 
Pujari assumes the office of Secretary, MSME at the important juncture when the Policy for MSME sector is at the final stage and important amendments to the MSME Development Act are under consideration. Implementation of important Government policies on public procurement from micro and small enterprises, technology upgradation and above all participation of MSME sector in ‘Make in India’   will also ask for his visionary leadership.
 
Welcoming Pujari as the new Secretary, MSME, Sangam Kurade, President, FISME, expressed his hope that under his able guidance a game changing policy regime for the MSME sector will be put in place. (KNN/DB)
