Associations urge MSME Minister to open SAIL yard in Coimbatore
Coimbatore, May 7 (KNN) At the backdrop of the National Coir Conclave in Coimbatore, the local MSME Associations have requested the Union Minister of MSME Narayan Rane to set up a SAIL yard in the district as a measure to meet the demand of raw materials.
Further the MP of Coimbatore MP P.R. Natarajan has requested Union Minister Rane to take initiatives to reduce the GST for job-working engineering units.
He also appealed Minister of State Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma to consider the appeal and demanded measures to reduce the raw material prices for the MSMEs.
In an interaction with both the ministers the associations have demanded a ban on the export of all raw materials, including iron, iron ore, paper and copper.
They have also urged the union government to ban duty on raw materials import.
Both the ministers jointly flagged off the ‘Run for Coir’ marathon on Friday which saw a participation of 1,600 people. (KNN Bureau)
