Shanghai, May 16 (KNN). Among the scores of companies pledging investment totalling USD 22 billion in India before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a high profile programme organized by India-China Business Forum Shanghai today, was an MSME - Jaipur based Autolite (India) Ltd.

“PM Modi’s ‘Make In India’ has been an inspiration because of which we formed the joint venture with a Chinese company to manufacture high-tech capital goods such as fire plasma machine, robotic IR and UV curing coating line, advance assembly line and online vision inspection systems”, said Director of Autolite Adrash Mahipal Gupta.

The Chinese company will invest and also transfer technology through the JV route to manufacture these products in Jaipur.

“All these high-tech capital goods are currently being imported from China but the JV facility will manufacture them in India and also export to other countries”, added Gupta, who is also a member of Central Executive Committee of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME).

President FISME, Sangam Kurade has congratulated Autolite and  hoped that the this experience would be extremely valuable for MSME community in the country.

While admitting need to update technology among MSMEs he says, “China should be seen as an opportunity also and instead of importing blindly MSMEs should also explore opportunities for joint manufacturing in India to Make for India”, Dr. Kurade has said. (KNN Bureau)
