Updated: Mar 11, 2014 03:39:56pm
Organized in collaboration with MSME-DI, Kolkata under the Ministry of MSME, the programmes will be held in the state capital on March 12 and 14.
“More and more large scale buyers are changing over to e-procurement system,” said FOSMI, on the need for such programmes.
According to the Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), the Central Government Ministries, Departments and Public Sector Undertakings shall procure minimum of 20 per cent of their annual value of goods or services from MSEs.
As far as the programme on technology tools is concerned, according to MSME-DI, “it has been ascertained that by implementing Quality Technology Tools (QTT), like 6-Sigma, TQM, TPM in certain sectors or group of industries in the micro and small sector, the performance of the industries has improved substantially in terms of productivity.
“Similarly, adoption of Quality Management Systems (QMS) like ISO-9000/18000/22000, etc, by MSMEs has also shown improved performance. It is therefore essential for the MSMEs to adopt the best manufacturing practices to enable them to be competitive in the current scenario of global competition,” it added.
There is no registration fee for the programme. (KNN Bureau)
