Awareness Programmes Under RAMP Kickstarted From Chandigarh On MSME Support Schemes
New Delhi, Aug 22 (KNN) The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with the Industries Department of Chandigarh, launched the first session of its Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Series at PHD House.
The initiative aims to familiarize industry stakeholders with government incentive schemes and provide guidance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their operations.
The programme served as a platform to inform entrepreneurs about the opportunities available through central government policies, while also offering them support in overcoming challenges faced during business growth.
By bringing together policymakers, experts, and MSME representatives, the event highlighted the importance of knowledge-sharing and collaboration in boosting the sector’s competitiveness.
Chief Guest Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Secretary of Industries, Chandigarh, emphasised the critical role of MSMEs in the city’s economic landscape.
He revealed that around 55,000 MSMEs are officially registered with the Ministry of MSME in Chandigarh, while the overall number of enterprises operating in the city stands close to one lakh. This, he noted, is a significant indicator of the sector’s strong presence and potential.
Yadav also assured that the Industries Department will continue to organize similar awareness programmes on diverse topics every month.
These regular initiatives are designed to keep business owners updated on evolving policies, financial incentives, and technological advancements.
He urged MSMEs to actively participate in such programmes and leverage the benefits to enhance their growth and competitiveness.
The RAMP Series marks an important step towards creating an enabling ecosystem for small businesses in Chandigarh. By supporting entrepreneurs with knowledge, resources, and guidance, the initiative is expected to strengthen the city’s MSME base and contribute to sustainable economic development.
