Budget 2019: MSMEs want govt to act on various challenges being faced by them, says MASSIA Pres

Mumbai, June 29 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are not getting the required attention and support that they should get from the government, said Balaji Shinde, President of Marathwada Associations of Small Scale Industries & Agriculture (MASSIA).

Speaking with KNN India on budget expectations, he said MSMEs now a days are facing problems regarding the budget and want the government to act upon their requests on changing the budget for the welfare of MSMEs.

“The investment cost, the infrastructure cost is way too high and the government is not supporting us,” he added.

He further said that the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has set very low rates for the new commercial industries and new industries are coming up but these days the infrastructure cost and land cost has increased which is not letting new industries flourish.

“The Indian Governments words are only on paper and nothing is being done practically to help these MSMEs reach the levels of success”, he pointed.

He mentioned that the governments’ concept of “One Window” is applicable to the majority of states but till now it hasn’t shown any success in Maharashtra.

A lot of MSMEs are also suffering from the problem of GST which is imposed and want the government to act on it, “ Before GST, we were supposed to pay only Stamp Duty but now we have to pay Stamp Duty along with GST which is absolutely not benefitting MSMEs” he said.

One of the major problem Shinde mentioned was that “the industrialists are not getting affected that much because of the GST but the employees, laborers are getting affected because they are made to pay GST on every item”.

All these MSMEs wants from the Government is to pay attention to them and help them in reaching heights of success, he added. (KNN/LM)
