CFTI offers job oriented courses in the field of footwear

New Delhi, Sept 18 (KNN) Aiming to launch some job oriented courses in the field of footwear industry, Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI), a premier training institute in footwear technology under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) is offering about seven long-term and eight short-term courses in footwear technology at its Chennai campus,  said K Murali, Director, CFTI.

While addressing the media, Murali said that this program would provide various self-employment, job oriented courses under MSME using modern technology and the best qualified faculty.

Emphasizing that ‘India is the second largest footwear manufacturer in the world next only to China’, he added that the market oriented trained technicians in the industry have higher job potential with expanding footwear industry.

In coming times, India needs more and more skilled workers to meet manufacturing demands, he added.
These short term and long term courses in the footwear technology will provide skill based training to the participating student which will be in high demand in the near future.

Murali said the courses are meant for all levels of education from Class X, Plus 2, Graduation and even Class VIII.

He said that almost all the trained candidates from CFTI are totally employed and most of the leading manufacturers are offering placements by conducting campus interviews.

Short term courses were also offered through state government sponsorship, he added.
