CII hosts the Indian MSME Growth Summit on June 27-28

New Delhi, June 27 (KNN) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised the Indian MSME Growth Summit on the occasion of International MSME day.

The two-day summit was inaugurated by Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Hon’ble MoS, MSME.It will conclude on June 28.

The theme of the event is “Maximising MSME outreach for business development & sustainability”.

Key address were presented by B.B. Swain, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Shreekant Somany, Chairman, CII National MSME Council.

The conference aims to focus on leveraging & exploring finance, technology, digital commerce and innovation in order to make MSMEs future ready.

Speaking at the occasion Verma highlighted that “there are more than 63 million MSMEs in India which contribute 30% to the GDP and are playing vital role in generating employment.”

“They form the backbone of nation's economy and we hope that the pace of their growth could be further fastened by leveraging technology,” he added.

Verma called upon the representatives of industry associations to give their phenomenal contribution in increasing the share of MSME sector from 30% to 45% in GDP and in realizing the vision of self-reliant India.

Shreekant Somany said “the post Covid era has hastened the pace of digital transformation. It is essential to help the MSME sector make the transition to digitisation.

“We dream of having a formalised MSME sector having highly accessible credit and opportunities for accessing technology over the next 25 years,” he added.
