CII ties up with UK trade body for promotion of SMEs

New Delhi, June 21 (KNN) Indian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will get a platform to showcase their products in United Kingdom with the help of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which will be offered a permanent exhibition space at Leicestershire Asian Business Association (LABA) in midlands.

“It is a step in right direction and comes at a time when governments in both countries are working closely to take business partnerships and economic partnerships between India and UK to the next level,” said Chairman of LABA, Uday Dholakia, here.

The announcement comes after visit by a CII delegation to UK, led by its President CII and Executive Vice Chairman Infosys, S Gopalakrishna. 

They discussed the ways to support the SMEs understanding well that small units are key to economic development.

The CII has been promoting for Indian business interest in UK particularly in midlands with the focus on finding business partners, technology and research and development in advanced manufacturing.

Recently UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable came to India to call upon the Indian industries to invest in UK. (KNN)
