CODISSIA to organise MSME exhibition ‘Subcorn 2016’ to boost public procurement

Coimbatore, August 17 (KNN) Coimbatore District Small Industries’ Association is set to organise an exhibition Subcorn 2016 where public sector units, large scale enterprises and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will get a single platform for interacting.

Around 150 MSMEs, 15 public sector undertakings, seven large-scale private enterprises and over 150 MSMEs are taking part in it. The programme will start from August 18th to August 20th in CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, said V. Thirugnanam, General Secreatary CODISSIA.

With the Central Government constituting a committee to monitor and ensure that PSUs comply with the procurement norms, many PSUs want to reach out to MSMEs. NLC will organise a one-day seminar here to create awareness on its needs among the MSMEs.

Secretary said that Coimbatore industries supply mainly to BHEL, ICF and BEML.

As many as eight banks will also put up stalls. Apart from the exhibition, there will be seminars and sessions where the MSMEs will learn more about opportunities and processes involved to supply to the PSUs and large-scale private enterprises, he said. (KNN Bureau)
