New Delhi, Nov 28 (KNN)   To mark its diamond jubilee, the coir board has organised various events such as women’s meet and seminar on coir wood at Dilli Haat and Chetanalaya here today.

Among the activites lined up for the day are competitions such as tug-of-war for women, dance competition for college students and painting competition for school children.

Coir Board is a statutory body under the administrative control of Ministry of MSME for the promotion and development of coir industry as well as export market of coir and coir products in India as a whole.

It regulates the production of husk, coir yarn and coir products by registering coir spindles and looms for manufacturing coir products as also manufacturers of the products, licensing exporters of coir yarn and coir products and such other appropriate steps. (KNN/ST)
