New Delhi, Oct 3 (KNN) Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said that the real beneficiaries of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme are Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which intends to boost manufacturing in different sectors.

The Minister said that the PLI scheme has been very well received while addressing IIM Ahmedabad’s Red Brick Summit 2022 virtually from New Delhi on Saturday.

To promote champion sectors where we have comparative and competitive advantages is the main idea behind PLI, he said.

”We must get out of the mindset of subsidies and build a resilient and self-reliant business ecosystem that is not dependant on the government,” added the minister.

Emphasising on the role of MSMEs, he said the mainstay of India is MSMEs.

The minister said that the roll-out of 5G in the country is a very big confidence booster to India’s aspirations for growth and added that the enthusiasm surrounding the launch of 5G is truly empowering.  (KNN Bureau)
